Meet Gabby.  

We had our first crash on the road, on the first day.  Right smack in the middle of the tram way.  Blamed the guy who parked his van along the street.  My wheel got stuck in the tram line but thank god i suffered no major injury.  I thought i might have a bad knee because it hurts a little but i escaped with some scratches.  I am lucky, must be some angels watching over me. :-)

14 more hours

One more day,  

To be precise, 14 more hours, i can officially move to my new apartment.  I go to bed, wake up, and i will be heading to my new home.  Finally a pad of my own.  How cool.

My stuffs are in, they were delivered in the afternoon.  My dresses were unpacked and hung up.  Wow.... i saw the familiar varieties, can't wait to sort them out properly.  My lifeline is here!  :-)))

Yippee!

What!

I am finally moving out in 3 days.  I realized it is easier to unpack then pack.  Though i have only stayed for 3 weeks (how time flies), the number of items I have has increased.  The washing powder, the perishables, new laptop bag... I wish for a helping hand.

Just as i typed, received a call from the front desk that i have to shift out of my room because there is a leakage and there will be no warm water and possible blackout!  Gosh, it's already 10pm and can't that happen after 3 days?  MY GOD!

Now i am upset, gotta go.  :-(((

Keukenhof

Another sunny, lovely day and indeed Spring is coming. 


Try heading to Keukenhof during April-May, you will enjoy array of colours in the heavenly earth garden.  Indulging and soaking yourself in the sun, the flowers and the blue skies - Nice!  


You can also rent a bicycle to ride through the flower fields- panorama view on rows of Yellow, Red, Pink & Purple Tulips.  Find a nearby alfresco cafe and enjoy a nice hot cuppa. Then cycle to the beach to catch some salty sea air.


What a perfect afternoon!

Haarlem

Today was a lovely day, sun hanging in the sky except for the chill from the wind.  This country can never be without the wind and probably explained the number of windmills around.  Otherwise day would have been perfect.


We drove to Haarlem, so what did we do there?  Shopping!  


On a serious note, Haarlem is a smaller town, quite nice & less crowded.  Approximately 40 mins drive from Amsterdam city.  Everybody is sitting alfresco, enjoying the sun.  Wherever the sun is shinning, you see people sitting.  It is hilarious because in Singapore, everybody is avoiding the sun.


What one abundance might be another treasure.

Back to Civilization

I am back to civilization, i feel connected to the world again!  


Feeling so happy like a little child who is holding a fancy toy, i am back with my iphone where whatsApp, MSN, Skype, Tango & Words are working again.  I am thrilled!  :-)))


It was a note from Miffy who spurs me to get a personal line with unlimited access to internet immediately.  I am glad i wrote last night.


Gosh, it has been so long.


I am a happy bird!  :-)

From a lovely Friend

I received a lovely card today and there it is sitting on my desk.  Such a thoughtful card which brings warm to me instantaneously.  It travels around the world before it lands in my hand.  What a pleasant surprise.  It carries the sunshine and a familiar touch.  Thank you my dear friend.  You are greatly missed.

Amstelveen Pad

Well, if you are curious where I am putting up now, then you will be interested in this article.  Currently, staying at a temporary service apartment in Amstelveen which is 20 mins away from the Amsterdam city centre.  Nothing much around my area except for 2 supermarkets and a few shops which is 5 mins drive from the apartment.  Thank god i am moving out in 12 days!

Food for the day

I had a yummy lunch!  Simply fantastic!!  The cube lamb fillet prepared by Anabelle was awesome and the plate of veggies was fantastic.  I called it the 'Anabelle Lamb Fillet'. Brilliant, the best lamb I have tasted!  It was so good that I have to ask for the recipe and I will certainly try on my own.  See which lucky you get to savour it!  I promise it will be nice. ;-)

As for my Sunday dinner menu - Mozzarella with Tomato and Arugula + Barbecue Ham Chips.  My first home made dinner (only if you consider that as one).  :-)))

Say Hi to Purply!

I bought a very nice pot of purple flowers.  I thought that could make my dining table looks better,  also to brighten up the place.  They are really beautiful and I really like it.  It shows sign of spring.

Laundry Night

I washed my first basket of laundry today.  30 mins of washing and 45 mins of dryer = a pair of shrunk socks and a partially dried top.  That's funny.  


I opened the washing machine door, dump everything inside except my pink shirt which went into another machine.  4 cups of detergent because i put the first 2 into the wrong place and push the green button and it starts spinning.  Amazing.


My virgin laundry experience and a pat on my shoulder because there is no huge damage and my turtle neck is in tact.  ;-)


Friday evening is the laundry night.  

23 March, Wednesday

I survived another day of driving and in fact, I am starting to get the hang of it.  It is funny how we human being are so adaptable.  Be it left or right hand drive, you just need more confident and a little time to adjust.  When you are forced into circumstance, you have no choice but to bite the bullet and Do It!   


Finally I went to the supermarket today, just an hour before they are closed for the day.  It was only 7pm.  I think we Singaporeans are lucky that most of the shops close late.  In fact I think we are spoilt.  I was walking through rows and rows of items and everything is new.  Brands which I have never heard of and to make things worse, everything is in Dutch!  I wanted to buy some butter but I was staring at the shelves for the longest time.  How hard could it be right?  Eventually I pick the one with the smallest box.  What an experience!  My first grocery trip.


I realized it is not easy to be 'truly' independent but again I am a human being, so in no time, I will be.  I just need to give myself more time and take a deep breath.

20 March, The new beginning

I was given a 2nd chance, a new life.  A chance to make things right, to start all over again.  

Today marks the new chapter of my life.  

Don't ask me about the past, they are buried as memories. 

There will only be future and blessings.

I only see the Sun.
